Supporting the local community is an important part of the Forest School aims and ethos, 'fostering responsibility and respect for self, others and the environment, both in the local community and in the wider world' is a key part of our learning.
Local charity events provide a great opportunity for this and a team of Year 5 and 6 pupils recently seized the opportunity to have fun, and give back to the community, by participating in the long running Everest Challenge. The event is Le Murier School's biggest fundraiser of the year and raises much-needed money to support their outdoor education and residential programme. Teams are required to climb as many times as possible within an hour on the indoor climbing wall at Le Murier. In total, across all the teams, nearly £20,000 was raised.
Well done team!
