Volunteering

We are always looking for volunteers to support with our work in school. Many aspects of school life benefit from additional adult help including hearing children read, checking of Maths Passports, cooking, leading clubs, and accompanying groups on trips.

If you would like to volunteer to help in school, please contact us.

All volunteers at Forest are required to hold a Volunteer Card issued by the States of Guernsey. This includes an up-to-date DBS check and signing up to the DBS update system.

Safeguarding and Child Protection training requirements to volunteer at Forest

Keeping children safe is a key part of our work in school and is only effective when everyone works together.  As such, we are now asking for all of our volunteers to have completed the Guernsey ISCP Safeguarding and Child Protection Level 1 training. There are 4 levels of Safeguarding courses in Guernsey.  To volunteer at Forest, we require a minimum of Level 1 although if you have completed higher, that would be great.  This link takes you to the ISCP training page which will explain more http://iscp.gg/article/152850/Training.

The Level 1 course is an e-learning package providing a basic overview of safeguarding practice in Guernsey and Alderney.  It can be accessed via the Institute Learning Pod. Follow the link under 'Free E-Learning'. https://theinstitute.gov.gg If you have not already, you will need to create an account with a valid email address.

When you have completed the course, please can you send us either a screenshot or print the certificate and bring it in. Your name, the date completed, and the course title should all be visible. If you have already completed this course or an ISCP Guernsey higher level course, then please bring in the certificate for us to copy and add to our records.
