Wider Curriculum

At Forest we believe it is important to give the children access to a wider range of experiences in addition to the taught curriculum.

We offer the following opportunities:

We strongly believe in the value of residential experiences and what these bring to pupils' learning. We currently offer two trips:

  • Year 6 camp (4 nights in Guernsey)
  • Year 5 stay on Lihou Island (2 nights in Lihou)

Throughout the year, the school offers a variety of extra-curricular activities at lunchtime and after school. These will vary from term to term because we rely on staff giving their time, knowledge and skills. A letter is sent out termly to identify the activities on offer.

Some of these activities are as follows:

  • Football
  • Tag Rugby
  • Athletics
  • Cricket
  • Gymnastics
  • Creative Club
  • Book Club (Schools Library Service)
  • Drama
  • Lego
  • Wellbeing Club
  • Multi Sports (Sports Commission)
  • Choir
  • Cookery Club

We also endeavour to provide educaitonal visits and experiences for the children during their lesson time, such things include:

  • Sailing
  • Visits to the museum
  • Guille-Alles Library
  • Accidental Zoo
  • Ice-skating
  • Beach visits
  • Church visit/local places of worship
  • Walks in our local area with a specific subject focus
  • Outdoor learning in the environmental/nature area
  • Cultural enrichment activities - offered to all Primary Schools
